The U.S.-Japan UPWARDS Program, supported by the Micron Foundation and Tokyo Electron, aims to foster the next generation of semiconductor talent.
UPWARDS stands for University Partnership for Workforce Advancement and Research & Development in Semiconductors.
The program brings together five Japanese universities—Tohoku University, Institute of Science Tokyo, Nagoya University, Hiroshima University, and Kyushu University—and six U.S. universities—the University of Washington, Purdue University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Virginia Tech, and Boise State University.
