         The University of British Columbia (Canada)
Program Fee USD 5,000 and additional costs (read more in the call document)
The course fee includes accommodation, meals, in-country transportation within Ecuador, and all fieldcourse-related activities.
Based on the internal selection, one (1) outstanding candidate may receive full financial support from Kyushu University for round-trip airfare between Japan and Ecuador.
Eligibility
・Be enrolled in a doctoral program at Kyushu University during the program period and as of October 1, 2026
・Individuals who are eager to participate in discussions and field activities in English
・Those interested in participating in international collaborative research or inter-university partnerships in the future

Kyushu University invites PhD students to apply for the APRU FELLI Research Intensive Field Course 2026, an international, field based intensive program organized by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU).

Set in Ecuador’s diverse forest ecosystems—including the Amazon, cloud forests, and highland páramo—this course focuses on research design for international, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research through immersive, real world field experience.
