English Study with International Students from Other Countries
Students learn the four skills of English (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) with students from around the world through Pathway English, aiming to improve their international mindset and English language skills.
Afternoon activities focused on engineering
Students will participate in Engineering without borders workshops conducted by UQ engineering students.
Visit CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation), a research organization of the Commonwealth of Australia, to experience cutting-edge Australian research.
Exchanges in Japan and locally
Exchanges at Kyushu University with UQ students participating in UQ-JPIE
Students form buddies with students from UQ’s School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering, who visit our university for about two weeks every July, and engage in various exchanges.
Exchange at the University of Queensland
When they visit UQ in August, they are reunited with their buddies, this time in Australia. There are also international students from other countries participating in the English study classes, so you can enjoy interacting with people from different countries.
Interaction with Host Families
At Q2PEC, one student will stay with a local family for the entire duration of the program. While living with a friendly family, you will deepen your understanding of Australian culture as well as your English skills.
Many students keep in touch with their hosts even after their homestay.
How to spend your free time
At Q2PEC, Saturdays and Sundays are basically free time, so it is up to you how you spend them. You can enjoy various sightseeing in Australia, which is relatively safe. Some students go to the Gold Coast, which is accessible by public transportation, or to Cairns or Sydney, but there are also many sightseeing spots in the suburbs of Brisbane. At that time of the year, Brisbane hosts a major event called the Brisbane Festival every year, where students can participate in many cultural events.
